My name is Kelsey.

Born and raised in Northern California but decided to move to the crazy wonderful world of Southern California for college. After I got my BS in Business Marketing at Cal Poly Pomona I decided to stick around and made my way to live in Orange County.

If I am not at work….I am usually working out, taking pics of food, on amazon, or with my friends exploring placed we found on Yelp. I recently came across your story as I am a 3rd time returning camp challenger. After my second challenge last year I was at my goal and couldn’t have been happier, then the worst unimaginable nightmare struck my family, my son went to his forever home in Heaven. From that day on I have been walking the most difficult journey of my life and went into severe depression. I started gaining weight, 17 lbs so I decided to finally go to the doctors to make sure everything was ok. The doctors said it was due to my depression so I went with it, but knew I needed to get back to my healthy self as my son would want me to be so I can raise his brother and sisters until we all go to our forever home with him, therefore I decided to join my 3rd challenge, the alumni challenge. I asked my doctor to check my thyroid since I still wasn’t feeling well and it came back at 9.6… Almost 3 times the norm. They did a thyroid scan / US, thank God it all came back negative. I was put on medicine 1 week after I signed up for my 3rd challenge so I am a little nervous that I’m not going to be able to lose the weight. Any suggestions?

Hello! I am so sorry to hear about your son my prayers go out to you and your family! I’m sorry I didn’t see this comment sooner how is your challenge going? My suggestions would be just to definitely make sure you find time in your week to relax between your workouts and stay 100% FTDI. I lost almost 40 pounds from 2 challenges now it’s time to continue my journey and keep it off so I’ll let you know if I have any suggestions!
